Description

A distributed PAGA system is a long chain of cable joints, and every joint is a place where water, corrosion or a mistake can put part of the system out. The junction box is what keeps those joints controlled: a defined, accessible, sealed point where a loudspeaker line is terminated, looped onward and, when something goes wrong, isolated and tested.

The DNH box is worth reading in detail, because the detail is the product. Six M20 threaded entries give enough room for a line in, a line out and drops to loudspeakers without improvising. It ships with four M20 blanks and three M20 cable glands, so a box arrives ready to install with unused entries properly sealed rather than taped over - which is exactly the failure that lets water in six months later. An earth continuity plate carries the earth through the box rather than leaving it to be bridged by whoever is on site. And 2.5 mm loop in, loop out terminals are sized for real PAGA cable and arranged for the way these systems are actually wired.

That loop in, loop out arrangement is what makes line monitoring work. A PAGA system supervises its loudspeaker lines so that a break or a short is reported rather than discovered during an emergency, and that supervision depends on the line passing cleanly through each box. Terminals designed for it keep the monitoring intact and make fault-finding a matter of working along the loop box by box.

There is also an Ex-e version, which exists to complement the DNH explosion-proof loudspeaker range. That completeness matters more than it sounds: in a classified area the loudspeaker, its box, its glands and its cable all have to be suitable together, and a certified loudspeaker wired into an uncertified box is not a compliant installation. Being able to take the loudspeaker and the box from the same maker removes the most common gap in a hazardous-area PAGA scheme.

Features

  • Six M20 threaded entries. Line in, line out and loudspeaker drops without improvising extra holes.
  • Blanks and glands supplied. Four M20 blanks and three M20 cable glands in the box, so unused entries are sealed properly.
  • Earth continuity plate. Earth carried through the box by design rather than by site improvisation.
  • 2.5 mm loop in / loop out terminals. Sized for PAGA cable and arranged for looped wiring.
  • Keeps line monitoring intact. Clean pass-through is what lets the system supervise its loudspeaker lines.
  • Ex-e version available. Complements the DNH explosion-proof loudspeakers, so loudspeaker and box match.
  • Weatherproof as standard. Built for the outdoor and exposed positions these lines run through.

Applications

Junction boxes appear at every break point in a loudspeaker line.

  • Outdoor loudspeaker runs. Along walkways, pipe racks and building exteriors.
  • Classified areas. The Ex-e version as part of the certified installation.
  • Jetties and marine structures. Exposed positions in constant salt.
  • Process plant. Where a loudspeaker drop leaves a main line.
  • Extensions and retrofits. Joining new loudspeakers into existing looped cabling.
  • Maintenance access points. Where a loop needs to be isolated and tested without disturbing loudspeakers.

Support & Documents

PT Vivo Asia Teknologi Indonesia designs and commissions public address and general alarm systems rather than simply supplying the parts. Our scope typically covers:

  • Acoustic coverage study against your layout and measured background noise levels.
  • Loudspeaker selection, placement, tapping and zone design.
  • Amplifier, controller and cabling design, including line monitoring where required.
  • Supply, installation, termination and commissioning.
  • Intelligibility testing and sign-off against the applicable standard.
  • Integration with fire and gas detection, ESD and telephone systems.
  • Operator training, spares provisioning and ongoing maintenance.

Ratings, approvals and acoustic figures vary by model and are confirmed against the current manufacturer datasheet at quotation stage. Tell us the areas to be covered, the hazardous-area classification and the noise levels you are working against, and we will come back with a coverage design and a full bill of materials.
