Description

A helideck needs reliable two-way communication with inbound and outbound aircraft, and Jotron built the TR-910 to work in more than one of the positions that requires. They describe it as a light-weight, robust and portable multipurpose transceiver that can be vehicle mounted, set up as a desktop, or carried in a bag - usable as a last resort radio, in an airport utility vehicle, or as the main radio on a helideck where portability matters. The desktop variant this line supplies is intended as the main radio in low volume tower operations.

Two features separate it from an ordinary fixed transceiver. It is compliant with ETSI EN 300 676, the European standard for ground VHF airband equipment, and it supports VoIP according to ED-137 with SNMP v3 - meaning it can sit on the airband network as a proper IP endpoint rather than requiring dedicated point-to-point audio wiring back to every control position. Remote control and monitoring is available through VCS, so an operator does not have to be physically beside the transceiver to use it.

The dedicated voice recorder output is worth noting on its own, because air-ground communications generally have to be recorded and a purpose-built output is a cleaner interface than tapping the audio path. It is the natural pairing for a recorder built to the same ED-137 standard - such as the Jotron SmartOil elsewhere in this catalogue - so radio and recorder can be specified as one system rather than joined by improvisation.

Supplied as part number 103400DE, the desktop version includes a microphone, a bracket for desktop mounting, an antenna cable connector, and an external AC/DC adaptor covering 100 to 240 VAC - a complete operator position rather than a bare transceiver.

Features

  • ETSI EN 300 676 compliant. The recognised European standard for ground VHF airband transceivers.
  • ED-137 VoIP with SNMP v3. A proper IP network endpoint, not point-to-point audio wiring.
  • Dedicated voice recorder output. Pairs directly with an ED-137 recorder such as Jotron SmartOil.
  • Remote control via VCS. Operated without being physically at the transceiver.
  • Three roles from one radio. Vehicle mounted, desktop or carried, so a site can standardise on one type.
  • Supplied complete. Microphone, mounting bracket, antenna connector and a 100-240 VAC adaptor with the desktop version.

Applications

Sourced from Jotron's own TR-910 product page.

  • Offshore platforms and FPSOs. Helideck communications.
  • Drilling units. Fixed installations for crew change movements.
  • Onshore helipads. Bases, hospitals and remote sites.
  • Refits and upgrades. Replacing obsolete airband equipment.

Support & Documents

PT Vivo Asia Teknologi Indonesia supplies and services radio and GMDSS equipment as part of a compliant installation rather than as a boxed item. Our scope typically covers:

  • Selection against the vessel's or facility's carriage requirements and area of operation.
  • Installation design: antenna siting, feeder runs, power supplies and battery backup.
  • Supply, installation, termination and commissioning.
  • Radio survey support, and coordination with class and flag administration where needed.
  • Programming, channel plans and licence documentation.
  • Annual testing, battery replacement and ongoing maintenance.

Approvals, frequencies and electrical details vary by variant and market and are confirmed against the current manufacturer datasheet at quotation stage. Tell us the vessel type or site, the flag and the equipment already installed, and we will come back with the right variant and a full bill of materials.
